This tournament will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco and will feature LPGA tour professional and winner Nicole Dalkas Castrale. The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco announces the passing of V. Rev. Cyril Loeb on September 4, 2010. Father Loeb, a distinguished retired clergyman who resided in Thousand Oaks, California, was vacationing in Europe at the time of his death. “We are deeply saddened with the passing of Father Cyril, as he was a dynamic leader of several communities in our Metropolis, as well as serving as a former Chancellor and Executive Director of Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center. He was loved as a pastor and friend, and his passing leaves a void for many people whose lives he touched,” stated His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco. Read more...

In the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great, the celebrant boldly, yet with great humility, beseeches our Lord: “Preserve marriages in peace and harmony; nurture the infants; instruct the youth; strengthen the elderly; give courage to the faint-hearted, reunite those separated; bring back those in error; defend the widows; protect the orphans…” These words took on new meaning for me in 2005 when I was elected to serve as the Shepherd of our holy Metropolis.
