Falling Asleep of V. Rev. Cyril Loeb

Fr. Cyril Loeb

The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco announces the passing of V. Rev. Cyril Loeb on September 4, 2010. Father Loeb, a distinguished retired clergyman who resided in Thousand Oaks, California, was vacationing in Europe at the time of his death. “We are deeply saddened with the passing of Father Cyril, as he was a dynamic leader of several communities in our Metropolis, as well as serving as a former Chancellor and Executive Director of Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center. He was loved as a pastor and friend, and his passing leaves a void for many people whose lives he touched,” stated His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco.

Father Cyril Loeb was a 1984 graduate of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. He was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on March 31, 1985 by His Grace Bishop Anthony of San Francisco, of blessed memory. He served the parishes of Saint John the Baptist – Anaheim, California; Saint Demetrios – Camarillo, California; and Saints Constantine and Helen Cathedral – Honolulu, Hawaii. He also served as Chancellor of the Metropolis of San Francisco, and as Executive Director of Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in Dunlap, California.
