Dearly Beloved, 

The work of our annual Folk Dance and Choral Festival has proven to be a success for over 30 years.  This ministry of our Metropolis has been a mainstay in nurturing our young people in the pathways of our faith and culture.

Indeed, FDF has become a most successful tool of infusing generations of Greek Orthodox youth with the most valuable precepts of our culture: genuineness of spirit and competition in a Christian context; celebration of our uniqueness as inheritors of the Hellenic Culture; and expression of the central virtues of our heritage. Undoubtedly, this ministry has been one of the main avenues of transmitting the Greek Orthodox Spirit to our young. 

This year's celebration in Ontario, California from February 14 - 17, 2008 should be a special one, as we welcome in our midst His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, other hierarchs of our Church, and many prominent Greek Orthodox leaders.  They will come to see the "wonder" called FDF and will undoubtedly be uplifted and inspired by this thriving ministry. 

It is imperative that we affirm their presence by our own participation in this year's activities. Therefore, I strongly urge you to do whatever is necessary to attend the scheduled activities of FDF in Ontario. Come and celebrate with all our precious culture and heritage. Come and experience the joy of seeing our children, grandchildren, relatives and friends, express their devotion to our Greek Orthodox heritage through their dancing, singing and friendship. 

This year's FDF needs your assistance more than ever. Show your dedication to our invaluable heritage and your commitment to provide a new generation of Greek Orthodox youth with the security of tomorrow.
