SAN FRANCISCO, CA - 2007 LPGA Tournament Winner Nicole Dalkas Castrale will be participating in the upcoming Metropolis of San Francisco Golf Tournament which will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Desert Willow Golf Club in Palm Desert, CA.  Most recently, Castrale recorded her first career LPGA victory at the Ginn Tribute hosted by Annika in Charleston, SC in June 2007.  Castrale defeated world #1 Lorena Ochoa on the first hole of a sudden death playoff.  She has also recorded five top 10's in 17 events through the Women's British Open, and she has made the cut in all four Majors for the second consecutive year.  Castrale is currently ranked 22nd in the world.

Castrale is a 2001 graduate of the University of Southern California, where she was a three-time member of the All-Pac 10 Team. She was an American Junior Golf Association Rolex First-Team All-American in 1996, and in 1997 she made it to the round of 16 in the US Women's Amateur Championship.  That same year Castrale also won the Southern California Golf Association High School state title. She has been golfing since the age of 10 and has a love of all sports.

Castrale was very close to His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony of blessed memory, which makes her participation in this tournament dedicated to his memory all the more meaningful. "My husband Craig and I feel blessed to have been friends with Metropolitan Anthony. He was very supportive of my golf and he even walked 18 holes watching me play in an LPGA event in Sacramento in 2002.  I know he is ‘helping me out' when I am on the course!"  Metropolitan Anthony was to have officiated at the Dalkas-Castrale wedding in January 2005, but he passed away just two weeks prior.  While this was a devastating loss, Castrale carries with her many fond memories of a dynamic Bishop who loved to golf.

Castrale was born and raised in Southern California and resides in Palm Desert, California.  She is a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Palm Desert and attends church faithfully.  When she is not golfing, Castrale likes working out, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

There is still time to secure your participation as a player or sponsor in the Metropolis Golf Tournament. For more information, please contact St. George Greek Orthodox Church at 760.568.9901.  Registration deadline is September 1, 2007.
