There’s
no question that the involvement of the youth and young
adults of our Church is crucial to the survival and
growth of Orthodoxy. Clergy and laity desire to
see their youth become more vibrant members of their
parish. Towards this end, the Metropolis Youth and
Family Ministries Office is pleased to invite GOYA
members and youthworkers tp a Youth and Young Adult
Council for the Southern California region, on Thursday,
September 18th at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church in
Irvine.
All
youthworkers and up to 3 GOYAns from each parish are
invited to attend. The youthworkers should be
individuals who are involved in any one of the following
programs: Young Adult Ministry, OCF, GOYA, HOPE, JOY,
Dance, Basketball, etc. The GOYAns should be the
leaders of their GOYA.
The
Purpose of the Youth and Young Adult Council meeting is
to: 1) to create a strong network for the youthworkers
of the region; 2) to place 2008-09 events on parish
calendars; 3) to better promote 08-09 events; 4) to meet
other youthworkers and to support each other; 5) to
share concerns/challenges in youth ministry.
