Join His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco in the First Annual Celebration of the Family Golf Tournament in northern California. This tournament will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco and will feature LPGA tour professional and winner Nicole Dalkas Castrale. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Metropolis Family Wellness Ministry which is providing programs and services for the spiritual, emotional and psychological wellness of the faithful and the priests in the Metropolis of San Francisco.
His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos states, “The family is at the core of our church, as we are all one family in Christ. We must work together as a family, showing love, respect and support to those around us, and join together in prayer as a source of strength and inspiration. Our society has placed great challenges on the stability of the family, but as a Church, we must overcome the social pressures and emphasize the importance of sustaining the family as a whole, as well as providing for the individual needs of each member of the family throughout their lives.” Current programs include clergy couples’ wellness retreats, mental health advocacy and support groups, family enrichment activities, marriage and parenting seminars, an addiction support group, and more.
Participation in the tournament is only $400 per golfer, which includes all course fees, cart, a registration gift and lunch. All golfers will enjoy a cocktail reception and awards dinner at the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. Hole sponsorships are also available, plus a limited number of beverage cart, lunch and cocktail reception sponsorships. The tournament will follow a scramble format and will begin with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m.
