Metropolis of San Francisco Fall Family Camp a Spiritual and Social Success

December 7, 2007

DUNLAP, CA - Families from throughout the Metropolis of San Francisco gathered the weekend of November 9 - 12, 2007 at St. Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in Dunlap, California to share in a weekend of fun, fellowship, and family growth. With activities ranging from scavenger hunts, family field games, and camp fires, families had the opportunity to reconnect with one another while making new connections with other Orthodox families. Not only did participants get to play together, but they also had the opportunity to experience the traditional cycle of church services. With Orthros every morning and Vespers every evening, the families truly had a chance to prayerfully prepare for Sunday's Divine Liturgy. Now approaching its sixth year, Family Camp has been a haven for Orthodox families to step away from their everyday hustle and bustle, and escape to the serenity that St. Nicholas Ranch embodies. In the shadow of The Monastery of the Theotokos the Life-Giving Spring, St. Nicholas Ranch offers the perfect setting to not only keep the entire family entertained, but also serves to remind them to keep themselves anchored to "The Church." Family camps are held three times each year, in the spring, fall, and winter. The next family camp will be held this winter on from February 1 - 3, 2008. Spring Family Camp will be held in May. For more information on Family Camp, or to make a reservation for your family, contact St. Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center at 559-338-2103 or via e-mail.
