About Us
The BHCC Library & Learning Commons delivers services crucial for student success, including Information Literacy instruction, quality resource selection, and an academic learning atmosphere. Located on the Charlestown Campus, the library serves all BHCC locations: the Charlestown Campus, the Chelsea Campus, and satellite locations.
The library webpage serves as an information gateway and extends library services with links to an online catalog, to a directory of high-quality research websites, and to 99,000 electronic resources, including full-text magazines, journals, books, and videos.
The 70,000 items in the physical collection, including books, AV materials, magazines, newspapers, and journals, are augmented by resources available through the library’s memberships: NOBLE, LYRASIS, Massachusetts Library System, and OCLC.
As a member of NOBLE, the BHCC library makes available to BHCC students, faculty and staff the shared resources of 10 academic libraries and 17 public libraries. NOBLE also taps the Internet via specially designed access menus to expand reference and research capabilities.
